Your Approach determines your Success

To become More Effective - Change your Context!

Your Unquestioned Beliefs

Are you a believer? Do you still have any unquestioned beliefs?

People spend their lives in the belief they need various things to be happy. A 'fulfilling job', to work for yourself, money, power, control, friends, approval, love... What do you imagine for your personal combination?

Yet life rarely gives you what you are convinced you need to be happy. Such beliefs condemn you to life filled with insecurity, anxiety, and frustration. The constantly changing world means you then worry about what's not under your control. A more effective way is possible...

"What Should I Do?" is a rather Deceptive Question

Header Underline
"What are you aiming for? What are your goals?" is the obvious but misleading start used by many coaches. The next question is "How are you going to get there?" This is all about what to do, rather than first finding out what you're all about.

Angela's coach first got her to write down
her detailed goals. She subsequently realized her coaching sessions were little more than professional butt kicking, and therefore declined to continue.

The little-known first choice you always make is what to be - usually
whether to be positive or negative. Aren't you better off finding out who you are? How to be fulfilled? Why aren't you already being that? When are you going to be that? These crucial questions are about who you are, your being, your context, rather than what you do, your content. And they determine the success of what you choose to do.

So you'll find our very different methodology - focussed on your being, your context - to be far more effective, as well as more satisfying and joyful. This implies you'll find a different first priority - your being - to be very beneficial, which does NOT mean or imply that goals don't help you achieve desirable results.

Doesn't it make more sense to choose goals compatible with who you are? And does what you currently think necessarily determine who you are anyway? So our first priority is your context, to find out more about who you really are!

Contrast our Very Different Approach

Coaching became very popular in the last century, and coaches mostly concentrate on what you need to do right now. Coaching academies seem to focus on the very valid Socratic method - eliciting your answers to pertinent questions to help you realize whatever is true for you today.

The problem here is that answers are usually about what you should do to realize your short or medium term goals. But is your current thinking on your goals always and entirely reliable? Do your thoughts ever come from
your self-sabotage mechanism? Which is not to say that doing what needs to be done to achieve a goal is not absolutely crucial. Check out our fully guaranteed very different approach - strategies coaching.

Stephen Fairley in 'Decisions, Decisions...' explains the general coaching process for other coaches:

"As a coach, I come in as a partner to you ...
It's about asking all the right questions.

His definition of coaching is:

"A one-to-one interactive relationship that helps people identify
and accomplish their personal and professional goals."

Which, on the surface, all looks misleadingly good.

Do You Automatically Believe your Thoughts?

But this again brings up the problem of believing your thoughts. How to stop being gullible? There's a perceptive, very astute French proverb:

Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose!
The more things change, the more they stay the same!

Consider this crucial epigram carefully. Although the circumstances, the faces in your challenges do vary, the problems tend to stay the same. Up till now, if you've had your focus on what you should do in this present moment, you probably know just how often this is true.

Life Strategies' experiential methodology originated in the dying years of the twentieth century. Its focus is the missing key to joy and success - improving your context. Our breakthrough, cutting-edge program focuses on your future - where I'm told on good authority that you'll be spending the rest of your life! Results with our strategies coaching are fully guaranteed...

Changes to Context do not substitute for psycho-therapy

Psycho-therapy started a couple of centuries ago. It often seems to focus on first fixing your past so you can progress. But while this works for troubled minds, it generally takes a rather long while - years. And with every passing moment you continue to create still more past!

Yet despite some practitioners' belief that therapy is the key to progress for everybody, there's been a dramatic expansion of competing avenues. Since therapy has little focus on creating the future, some psycho-therapists and psychologists are getting trained in more contemporary disciplines such as coaching, etc.
Change from Extinct to Evolve is How to Improve
For dramatic changes in your life you need to increase your personal power. Then you can evolve which usually implies cognitive improvements in your perspective. Changes in context increase your inner power, your ability to become what you want to be, however difficult that might seem to be.

It can be challenging to
improve your context, so please do NOT continue if you aren't completely healthy. If you have any issues psychological, please go see a professional! Do you like being right? The more open-minded people are to inner changes in perspective, the less stressful they find this program to be.

Do you stress when you're happy about what's happening? If you're stressing about things as they are now, doesn't that mean you're not happy about them? One crucial but usually overlooked insight on stress is as the tension between what is currently so and how you instead think things should be. So stop thinking you know better, you're fighting with reality itself - it's bigger than you...
